Down but Not Out: Jimmy Rollins and Jake Peavy

Jimmy Rollins

Back to the Future

I know this is about 5-10 years too late, but the San Francisco Giants have signed infielder Jimmy Rollins. The Bay Area native inks a minor league deal with the G-men, and will be fighting to make the roster in a bench role. Giants fans are hoping that Rollins can have a glimpse from his past and bring a little spark to their team. Rollins last played for the Chicago White Sox and was released in June after hitting .241 in 41 games.

Jake Peavy

Looking for Employment

Jake Peavy was a good Giant, even though we didn’t get Peavy from the San Diego Padres days… He’s always been a gamer, and you know every time he’s on the mound that he’s giving it his all… Speaking of Peavy and the Padres. Word on the street is they’ve both been in talks about possibly reuniting for the 2017 season. Peavy broke into the big leagues with the Padres in 2002, and played 8-years in San Deigo. He also won the 2007 NL Cy Young award while domination the NL West in a Padres uniform.
