- Comments Off on Michael Morse: Giants Ink A Blast From The Past To A Minor League Deal
In a signing that no one seen coming, the San Francisco Giants signed fan-favorite Michael Morse to a minor league contract. Morse is going to compete and hopes to be able to crack the Giants roster off the bench. If Morse can show that he can still swing it, this could be the Giants big bat off the bench.
The 34-year old Morse, hit .274 with 16 homers for the Giants in 2014. He then signed a 2-year deal with the Miami Marlins, and then was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates and later being released. Word on the street is that Morse reached out to the Giants and asked them to sign him to a minor league contract, so he can have a shot to crack their Opening Day roster.
