While at Florida State, Posey once played all nine positions in a game against Savannah State. He also hit a grandslam in the 2nd inning of that game. He used 4 different gloves. His former head coach of FSU, Mike Martin, calls Posey the most popular player in Florida State baseball history. That’s high praise for a program that has also developed Paul Wilson, Doug Mientkiewicz, as well as J.D. and Stephen Drew.
Posey briefly considered becoming a pediatrician if baseball didn’t work out. Loves working with kids.
