It’s been raining a lot around the Bay Area, and you know when it rains, it pours! Outfielder Jarrett Parker and the San Francisco Giants received bad news. Parker is out with a broken clavicle, and is likely out for up to 8 weeks. Parker was getting a good chunk of the playing time in left field for the Giants, and even though he’s started the season in a slump, this is still a setback for Parker and his big league career.

Parker was hitting .143 (3-for-21) in 9 games for the Giants this year. The 28-year-old was finally getting his shot at the big league level, so this news must be devastating. With Mac Williamson and Michael Morse trying to make a comeback from their injuries, who knows who will be getting the bulk of the playing time in left field when Parker is ready to come back from his injury. Let’s also not forget about newly signed Melvin Upton Jr.!
