Bob Nightengale of USA Today says (via Twitter) the San Francisco Giants remain confident they will sign relief pitcher Jeremy Affeldt to a 3-year deal for $18 million.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com says outfielder Nick Swisher is drawing interest from several teams. Heyman speculates that the Giants are one of those teams. Heyman also believes it will take $11-$13 million a year, for 3-to-4 years to land Swisher.

Infielder Manny Burriss was outrighted to Fresno back on November 6, but on November 8 he refused the assignment and elected for free agency.

  1. Please don’t sign Swisher! I have only seen some of his games, but I have seen many better outfielders! Not worth $10 M a year!!! His best days are behind him!
