SF Giants Rumors – All Starts With The Ace

The San Francisco Giants need to find a way to start winning some ball games. They should be picking up games right now while the San Diego Padres are on a 5 game losing streak. The Giants are 4-6 in their last 10 games.
Ace Tim Lincecum is in a tailspin in the month of August. He’s had 5 starts and is 0-5 with a 7.82 ERA. We all knew going into this year that our pitching was going to be our strong point, and this 2nd half has been the complete opposite. We need these guys to try to step it up for the remainder of the season for the Giants to have a shot at the playoffs.
Chris Haft the Giants beat writer tells me (via email) that he thinks the team still definitely has a shot!

August has been a rough month for the whole staff.
Everybody is tired, been at it all season and teams that are out of contention have fresh, enthusiastic guys called up with the opportunity to prove themselves.
Nothing is going to be easy here on out
You know I am sick of everybody giving lincecum a bad time. So hes had one bad half of a yr. So when he was throwing all those shut outs and winning 1-0 or 1-2 where were the complaints when hitting wasnt there..do you see him or the staff bicker when the bullpen cant hold a 3 run lead or 4 run lead no. Get off this kids back its his 3rd yr and yes no cy young but 11-8 and right his last 5 arent his fault hes had no run support in those many games and the other 3 losses on his record r from lack of run support.. Oh and one more thing he would have 13 or 14 wins by now if the bullpen doesnt blow his leads so stop bitchin about timmy
If Tim Lincecum can give up 3 runs or less in his starts going through 6 or 7 innings then the giants with run support should win those games, but now is the time to pull it all together since we are still only 4 back of the Padres who I knew were bound to hit a losing streak and they have a tougher September schdule than we do.If the giants can win within the division we will win the west if they don’t they will miss the playoffs since 25 of the last 28 games are within our division.
