The big fella (Barry Bonds) attended the San Francisco Giants Memorial Day game against the D-Backs. Bonds (Home Run King) has made it clear that he would like to come back to the Giants organization in some sort of coaching role.
“I gave my life and soul to that game. That’s what’s heartbreaking. That’s the hard part of it,” Bonds said. “My (reputation) was kind of iffy anyway. I created that guy out there for entertainment only. Whether you hated me or liked me, you were there. And I only wanted you there. I just wanted you to see the show. That was it. All I ever wanted was for people to have a good time and enjoy it. It was fun to come out and people would boo or yay or whatever. They all showed up to see whatever would happen next and it motivated me to play hard.”
Welcome Back Home
The Giants started their homestand with a win against the D-Backs on Memorial Day. The G-men have now won 7 of their last 10 games at AT&T Park. That’s a good stat to know since the Giants have their next 12 out of 15 games at home!
Barry Zito had a nice bounce back game, pitching 7 innings and just allowing 2 earned runs. Zito is 31-3 with the Giants when getting at least 4 runs of support. Now why didn’t we upgrade the offense sooner?
Outfielder and future Giants all star Melky Cabrera has 47 hits for the month of May. He’s tied for 3rd-most in SF-era history for a single month. He’s still looking up to Willie Mays (49) and Randy Winn (51). How about another 4 hit game tonight?
What’s your thoughts on Bonds possibly coming back to help coach in some role?
