The Braves series started off with a bang, as the San Francisco Giants took the first two games of the 4-game set. They ended up dropping the next two games to split the series with the Braves. However, the G-men did manage to win the season series (7 games) 4 games to 3. They haven’t won a season series over the Braves since 2009.
If you missed yesterday’s game, you didn’t miss much. There was a lot of runs given up, and just a single run scored for the Giants. It also was just another Tim Lincecum loss at home. He’s now lost 4 out of his last 5 games at AT&T Park. Lincecum is now 7-14 on the season, and the team is 7-20 in Lincecum’s starts.
It was nice to see outfielder Hunter Pence have a nice game at the plate yesterday. Pence went 3-for-4, so let’s hope this is a sign that he’s starting to heat up!
The bullpen could be getting some help tomorrow in Houston. Relief pitcher Guillermo Mota is eligible to be reinstated tomorrow (Tuesday) after serving his 100 game PED suspension. Some fans have mixed feelings about activating him or cutting ties. He’s served his suspension, and the bullpen needs help. I’m on board for activating him and getting this team some help!
Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on Mota being activated or not.
