Yesterday the San Francisco Giants beat the Rangers 2-1. Madison Bumgarner was on point and outshined the Rangers’ Yu Darvish. Kensuke Tanaka is a former teammate of Darvish. They played together in Japan for the Nippon Ham Fighters.
Tanaka singled off Darvish, and then poured salt in the wound by stealing a bag off of him as well. I would say Tanaka won that friendly battle. John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle jokingly asks (via Twitter) if Tanaka is stealing his signs?
If you haven’t heard by now, Andres Torres took us back a couple decades by going Bo Jackson style! Torres broke a bat over his leg after striking out. Torres even has the Giants young talent wanting to follow in his footsteps. Prospect Gary Brown tweeted, “I need to learn how to break a bat over my knee.” I’m sure he’s joking around, and not willing to risk injuring his legs. He’s the Giants future speedster on the base paths and center fielder!
