SF Giants Rumors: Bumgarner Sets The Tone, Sandoval, Romo, Lincecum and Posey News

The San Francisco Giants strike first in this showdown series with the Dodgers. Madison Bumgarner pitched a gem, and outdueled the Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. Bumgarner leads the Giants pitchers in wins this year (14-7).

Pablo Sandoval had 2 RBI’s in the game, and helped the team take the Dodgers by the score of 2-to-1. Sandoval is currently hitting .296 with 8 homers and 38 RBI in 69 games this season.

The Dodgers got their 1 run when Hanley Ramirez took Sergio Romo deep with 2 outs in the ninth inning. I think it’s safe to say that Ramirez isn’t fooled by anything Romo is throwing to him this year. Ramirez also took him deep on July 27th. It was in the 10th inning, which turned out to be the difference in that game.

Tim Lincecum is getting the start tonight for the Giants. He’s coming off a bad outing, where he just lasted 4 innings. The question tonight is if Bruce Bochy will have Buster Posey catch Lincecum, or give him the night off. Posey has only caught two our of lincecum’s last 11 starts.

Hat’s off to Madison as he pitched a great game. 2 years ago, you would have loved to have seen a guy like Madison win game one; knowing Timmy’s coming in for game two. However to be honest; I’m wondering if Timmy can keep the Giants in the game after two innings this evening. With this.. Last night’s game was HUGE!
