SF Giants Rumors: Cain Looks To Get Things Rolling, Melky’s Replacement, Crawford Catching Fire

Posted on August 17th, 2012 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

The San Francisco Giants hit the road today after finishing a 6 game homestand by going 3-3 against the Rockies and Nationals. Pitcher Matt Cain (11-5, 2.99) looks to get the Giants going tonight in San Diego.

At this time Gregor Blanco is the man replacing Melky Cabrera in left field. He’s been in a big time slump, but managed to snap his 21 at-bat hitless streak in Wednesday’s game against the Nationals.

Shortstop Brandon Crawford is in the midst of a career high hitting streak. He’s currently at 8 games, and looks to keep that going tonight at Petco Park.

Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on the Melky-less Giants in San Diego this weekend.
