The San Francisco Giants have reached a deal with infielder Joaquin Arias to avoid arbitration, reports Giants beat writer Chris Haft. Arias will make $925K in 2013. He’s coming back in the utility role that he was used for in 2012.
Closer Sergio Romo is the only arbitration eligible player remaining for the Giants. It’s been reported that Romo is seeking $4.5 million, and the Giants were at $2.675 million. That’s a $1.825 million difference. How about they just shake hands and meet in the middle around $3.5 million.
