Today the San Francisco Giants are facing Team Japan in an exhibition game. Kensuke Tanaka is getting the start today for the Giants at shortstop.

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says (via Twitter) Brett Pill had surgery this morning (meniscus repair) and is already on his way back to Arizona. Pill is expected to be out 3-weeks.

Catcher Hector Sanchez was in the Giants starting lineup today, but has since been scratched. Sanchez can’t seem to shake all of his nagging injuries this spring. John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle says (via Twitter) his bid to make the final roster is not being helped by his multiple ailments.

Sanchez has had shoulder issues and a calf strain this spring. With these nagging injuries, he could end up seeing himself start off the season in AAA-Fresno.
