SF Giants Rumors: Giants Land Hunter Pence!
The trading deadline is today at 1pm pacific standard time. With 3 1/2 hours left till the deadline, news has broke that the San Francisco Giants have landed outfielder Hunter Pence. The 29-year-old Pence is not a rental player, and gives the G-men some pop in their lineup. He’s currently hitting .271 with 17 homers and 59 RBI.
Jim Bowden of ESPN says (via twitter) the deal does not include Gary Brown, Brandon Belt or Kyle Crick. The word going around at this time is catcher Tommy Joseph is the player going to the Phillies. This is a great move for the Giants. Catching is something the Giants have a premium of, so I’m all on board with this trade.
Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on Hunter Pence to the Giants for catching prospect Joseph!

Just shows that Sabean is like a general, trying to fight the last war. He was right, last year, that Beltrán was still good, and I hope he knows what he’s doing with Pence because the Phillies spent a lot to get him and now are happy to trade him.
We’ve got musical chairs in the roster, and Nate is likely on his way out.
good 1st move! would love to see some bullpen help and somebody to keep the cheeseburgers from panda.
It is now 1:22…anything new prior to 1?
Very, very sad to see Nate go!
Very, very glad to see us getting Pence but couldn’t they have been able to keep Nate, get rid of Belt and Blanco and bring up Pill?
Oh well.
