Another game against the Athletics equals another loss for the San Francisco Giants. They seem to be going through a funk right now, and they need to figure out a way to get back to their winning ways.

If you want to compare Tim Lincecum to last year, we got it covered. Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says (via Twitter) Lincecum’s ERA last year was 5.18, and this year’s ERA is 5.12. There’s no hiding Lincecum when the rest of the rotation isn’t on track either.

In another Baggarly tweet, he points out there’s a lot of bad stuff around the Giants these days. However, their bullpen has been outstanding. Even under such heavy use, they have the 2nd lowest ERA in Major League Baseball.

Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News has a Bruce Bochy quote for us (via Twitter).

“There’s no sugar-coating this thing. We pretty much covered all facets as far as no playing well,” said Bochy.

Stay Hot Torres

I’m not sure if fans have noticed, but Andres Torres has been on fire! In the last seven days, Torres is hitting .438 with three doubles. He’s also hitting .397 at AT&T Park this year, and has hit .333 for the month of May.

Roster Update

As fast as Mike Kickham was called up from the Fresno Grizzlies, he’s already been sent back down to Triple-A. Reliever Ramon Ramirez has taken his spot on the Giants roster.

  1. I am irked with how they handled Kickam. He was pitching well and got two on. So here it is in the first two innings and Boch calls for a free pass which loads the bases. Gads this is a rook. How do you feel a rook would feel. Would he have done that with Timmy–probably not. He should have allowed him to pitch. He walked the guy and that put more pressure on the kid. I put this one on Boch. The kid had better stuff than Tim but Tim is getting 20 mill…so the rook pays the price.
