SF Giants Rumors – Insights On Trade For Hart, Fielder or Braun

When I asked the San Francisco Giants beat writer Chris Haft (via email) if the thinks the Giants are getting serious about trying to trade for Corey Hart, Prince Fielder or Ryan Braun. He told me it will take a lot to get one of those guys. The Brewers would want Matt Cain and somebody else decent, though the Giants might be able to sell them on Jonathan Sanchez.
Anthony Witrado of the Journal Sentinel said rumors have been flying regarding Hart for the last couple of weeks, and with the pitching-heavy but offense-starved Giants in town, the mill really got going with Hart-to-Giants talk.
I asked Witrado (via email) if he thinks the Giants will be able to land Hart, Fielder or Braun, and if so what does he think it would take to land one of them?
Witrado said Fielder and Braun are out of the question, most likely. Fielder would mean the Giants giving up Cain for sure. Hart is possibly, probably for Madison Bumgarner, but I don’t think that’ll happen over the next week. It will likely come after the break if it happens.

why would they want Matt Cain he’s a flyball pitcher in that stadium he’d struggle to no end, flyballs usually leave the park there. If we were trade any pitcher it’d have to Sanchez or Bumgarner they need strikeout or groundball pitchers more than anything not flyball pitchers but honestly is Fielder’s value still that high? he didn’t make the All-Star team.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say lets trade Jonathan Sanchez for Corey Hart.I know Sanchez is good when he is on but he has a career era of 4.49 but he does strike out alot of hitters.Corey Hart has the hr and rbi potential to get us those wins in the 1 or 2 run close games that we have been losing. The Giants have to give up something in order to get the bat we need plus hart is under contract through 2011 and is 28 years old which isn’t a typical Sabean trade.I think the giants are pitching rich and Mad Bum is going to be extremely good.
Cain is obviously untouchable and I am 99% sure Bum Bum isn’t going anywhere, so I guess that means Prince is outta the picture.
Braun — no chance.
So it’s all about Hart. Sanchez hasn’t been untouchable, but he’s surely been a really good 4-pitcher. He’s inconsistent at times but again, hes our 4-pitcher. Our pitching staff is now solidified with Bum in there and we can get better options than the streaking Hart.
If you look at teams who might be sellers, maybe Marlon Byrd of the Cubbies would be available
I’d Say Sanchez for Braun or Fielder, with Fielder’s current production and weight problems, combined with his hefty price tag next year the Brewers can’t afford him anyway… Braun is who I really want but I don’t think that the Brewers would let him go… I say we throw Pablo Sandoval into the deal if they want more than just Sanchez, Pablo is in a season long slump that I believe is partially weight induced, I think his extra heft is wearing him out… looking at film compared to last year I can see how much more it’s slowing him down and he’s only going to get bigger, trade him while he’s still got value, buy low and sell high!
