Barry Zito Thanks San Francisco Giants Fans.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post says Masahiro Tanaka will be coveted by some Major League Baseball teams. Yes, that means your San Francisco Giants are expected to be one of the teams involved per Sherman. The 24-year-old is considered a free agent, which means signing Tanaka will not command a draft pick.
If you haven’t heard much about the Japanese pitcher, check this out! Tanaka went 24-0 to help the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles with the Pacific League division title.
Always a Giant
Barry Zito walks away from the Giants as a true professional, and with a lot of class! Zito took out a page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle to thank Giants fans. Below is what the ad said.
“Let’s Go Giants…
Let’s Go Giants…
Let’s Go Giants…”
These words will live with me forever. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you, the dedicated fans of San Francisco for the fire in your hearts for Giants baseball.
These last seven years were filled with ups and downs both on the field and off. I lost both my parents, found the love of my life Amber, gained wisdom, found faith in god, and rode the wave to not one but two World Series Championships in three short years.
It has been an experience that has shaped the lens that I will see life through for the rest of my time. I feel so very blessed to have been part of it all.
Thank you San Francisco.
