George A. King III of the New York Post reports that the San Francisco Giants have sent scout Lee Elder to Target Field to watch reliever Joba Chamberlain.

Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle later tweeted that Elder was in Minnesota last night to scout the Twins bullpen, and not Chamberlain.
Schulman posted in The Splash that a big prize would be left-handed closer Glen Perkins. However, he’s not likely to go anywhere. The other intriguing Twins reliever is right-hander Casey Fien. He has a 3.55 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP in 38 games thus far. This means GM Brian Sabean and his staff are looking to upgrade this team, and not just allow this downward slide continue to gain momentum. Help should be on the way soon Giants fans!
Jim Bowden tweeted that manager Bruce Bochy told them during his interview that Mike Kickham has made his last start. Kickham will now take on the long reliever role, and Chad Gaudin will make his next start.

One Response to “SF Giants Rumors: Joba Chamberlain, Glen Perkins, Casey Fien, Etc.”

  1. I watched the game last evening and it seems that Lincecum is more destined for the BP as a long reliever. Five innings of 1 or 2 runs as a starter is about all you get from him anymore. It’s Zito tonight and who knows which Zito will show up? We need help and the offense has to get going. Two hits and 1 run in the first two games in Cincinnati is getting the job done. Go Giants
