SF Giants Rumors – Johnson The Giants Future First Baseman?

Posted on November 24th, 2009 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com say first baseman Nick Johnson is drawing plenty of interest. Johnson is heard from the Mariners, Mets, Yankees and the Giants.

King of Cali thoughts: Johnson is a guy that can hit and get on base. He’s not a big power bat, but he’s a guy that can get on base and isn’t a free swinger. He would be a good 2nd tier player to sign, and we all know that Sabean said the Giants will be after 2nd tier players.

  2. Ya, I mean you guys are right. Second tier guys could be like Jermaine Dye, of course Nick Johnson,Miguel Cabrera. Those people have power, some speed.

  3. Dan Uggla is on second tier to sorry to say it before

  4. The Giants could also sign Jason Bay, Matt Holiday, Prince Fielder

I have a feeling the Giants might land Dye and I dont think that’s a good idea unless we get him at a good price. Nick Johnson would be a good first baseman for us to sign. He gets on base a lot, but doesn’t have the power that we are lacking. Who is the one big bat you think is a must for the Giants to get this offseason?
