SF Giants Rumors: Names Starting To Surface Prior To Trade Deadline

Posted on July 20th, 2012 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

With the trading deadline 11 days away. More, and more names are starting to surface as possible players on the San Francisco Giants radar.

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com speculates that the Giants can move Pablo Sandoval to first base, so they can acquire a third baseman at the trade deadline.

Baggarly believes Phillies Placido Polanco could be on the Giants wish list. However, if the Giants want to think big, they could gamble on the Marlins Hanley Ramirez. He would be a big time salary commitment!

With the closer position in limbo right now. The Giants could put together a deal for Huston Street, Francisco Rodriguez, or Jonathan Broxton. Baggarly says the Giants don’t want to part with the necessary package of prospects to make those kind of deals happen.

Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on the trading deadline looming.

  1. K-Rod has anger-management issues.

  2. I don’t know about moving Pablo to first.

For Placido, I don’t know, but for Ramirez that would be very interesting.

For a closer I’d say no. We’ve got alot of talent to keep it together this year with Cassila; Romo; Lopez and Affeldt.
Who knows; maybe even Penny could be the closer.

We could use maybe 2 more middle relief guys to get us through the season.
I’ve got no doubts that Wilson will be back next year.
