SF Giants Rumors: Pablo Sandoval, Kensuke Tanaka, and Sergio Romo Update

Pablo-Sandoval-BobbleheadWith the 49ers all over the news in the Bay Area (which, I have no problem with); it’s hard for some of us to get our baseball fix. We’re still finding ways to dig up San Francisco Giants news for you die-hard fans like me!

John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle points out that Pablo Sandoval was named the MVP of the Venezuelan championship series.

I’m sure that MVP trophy will look nice to his 2012 World Series MVP trophy! Sandoval is a gamer, but I just hope he’s also working on getting himself physically ready for this upcoming season with the Giants.

Someone Wants a Job

In the same article, Shea says infielder Kensuke Tanaka gave his first public comments since signing a minor league deal with the Giants. Signing has been Tanaka’s dream for a long time, and his goal is to make the roster. He eventually wants to be an everyday player.

Hearing what Tanaka had to say is music to my ears. He’s coming in with goals and is motivated. He’s not just satisfied with inking the deal. He wants to make the team, and force the issue to be in the lineup day in and day out.

Pending Arbitration Hearing

The Giants and closer Sergio Romo have plenty of time to make a deal before an arbitration hearing. Romo’s hearing isn’t scheduled for anther 2 1/2 weeks, says Henry Schulman (via Twitter).

With over two weeks for this hearing. I’m banking on them reaching an agreement before they even have to step foot in an arbitration room.
