SF Giants Rumors: Sabean Sets Lincecum Plan, Also Talks About Resigning Cabrera
The San Francisco Giants GM Brian Sabean was on KNBR with Mr. T and Ray Ratto. Mr. T didn’t waste any time getting to Tim Lincecum questions.
“If he (Lincecum) were to go upside down. I think we’d have to seriously consider skipping him a start to give him more time on the side,” said Sabean.
When asked if the Giants would send Lincecum down. Sabean just laughed at the question and said no, so don’t worry Giants fans. There is no plan for Lincecum to get sent down to the minors to work on his pitching. The next step would be to have him throw on the side and have simulated games against the Giants bench players.
When asked about re-signing All Star outfielder Melky Cabrera. Sabean had the following quotes.
“We are open to it, and we would hope that at some point that both sides can have a conversation, and at least lay the groundwork, or kind of set some parameters.”
“I think there is strong mutual interest, and I think he really has enjoyed his stay,” said Sabean.

SIGN CABRERA AND IF WE FALL TO FAR BACK DO WE BECOME SELLERS.
I’m not sure it’s a real good thing saying before a start that unless he puts it together he’ll miss a start.
They need to keep that in house. No sense adding pressure before Timmy’s next start.
