SF Giants Rumors: Struggles vs. D-Backs, Bumgarner, Nady and Pence

Posted on September 6th, 2012 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

Today is a much needed day off for the San Francisco Giants. They dropped last nights game against the Diamondbacks to lose the series, and have now lost 2 straight games.

Madison Bumgarner was not able to get his 15th win of the season. If/when he gets his 15th win, Bumgarner will become the 1st Giants left-hander to reach 15 wins since Shawn Estes in 2000.

Outfielder Xavier Nady finally changed his number from 68 to 12. He then got hurt in last nights game, it’s reported as a strained hamstring. I hope it wasn’t the jersey number change that jinxed him! Giants fans are hoping it’s just an injury that will sideline him for a few games. There isn’t much time left in this season for a nagging injury. Nady will have an MRI today to see how serious the strain really is. In his absence, it’s back to rotating left fielders!

Oh snaps, Hunter Pence had his 9-game hitting streak snapped last night. Pence was 12-for-34 (.353) with 9 RBI during that span. No time like tomorrow to start a new one!

  1. If Nady can’t come out of it; it will hurt the Giants for the postseason.

He’s been doing great for us!

  2. Hector Sanchez as a pinch hitter , with 1 out and runners on first and third? Is the World coming to an end?
