SF Giants Rumors – Tejada Signing?

Posted on January 7th, 2010 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

Mychael Urban said (via twitter) that  he still likes Miguel Tejada for the Giants.

King of Cali thoughts: I really believe the Giants may make a run at Tejada. It’s been reported that he would likely land with the Cardinals for one year, $8 million. I have received a lot of emails from Giants fans that really like Tejada and think he’s a good fit. He can play third and if Edgar Renteria doesn’t play well. Tejada can move to short and Juan Uribe to third. Giants are still lacking offense even with the Mark DeRosa and Uribe signings. Let’s hope Sabean steps up by getting us another bat. Who’s on board with a Tejada signing?

  1. I’m down for a tejada 1 yr deal!

  2. Chris,

Start spreading the word, so Sabean can hear the Giants fans demanding someone that can hit. lol

  3. 3 Tejada 4 Sandoval 5 Derosa…Thats about as good as its going to get for the Giants in 2010. Make it happen Sabean. Unless Sabean has got some blockbuster in store, a Tejada signing would be nice. Blockbuster is not going to happen, so lets hope for tejada. He could have a big year with Sandoval hitting behind him. Freddy sanchez hitting in front of tejada…i like it.

  4. Personally, I don’t like the Tejada idea. I’d much rather see the Giants make a run at Carlos Delgado (short term deal) and keep Panda over at third…..

    1. Rowand (cf)
    2. Sanchez (2b)
    3. Schierholtz (rf)
    4. Sandoval (3b)
    5. Delgado (1b)
    6. DeRosa (lf)
    7. Schierholtz (rf)
    8. Posey (c)
    9. Lincecum (p)

  5. this is a TERRIBLE idea. the current problem is that we are stacking our team with 30+ year olds who won’t reach their career averages (think Randy Winn). Uribe needs to take renteria’s spot, let DeRosa take 3rd and have torres lead off:

    1.Torres
    2. sanchez
    3.Sandavol
    4.DeRosa
    5.Schierholtz
    6.Uribe
    7. Catcher TBA until posey is ready
    8.Rowand

  6. I’d be up for Carlos Delgado… a few years ago, that is. He’s 38 years old and coming off of an injury that hobbled him nearly the entire season in ‘09 and TWO SURGERIES after the season. Too risky in my book.

  7. No Delgado…let him make his way to the AL. id rather have laroche. and there is pretty much a zero percent chance that Derosa will hit clean up. Torres will most likely be our 4th OF. Uribe is not going to start at SS people…it will be Renteria. Schierholtz will have competition, no guarantee he his starting in RF. you might want to rethink those lineups.

  8. I rather see him go to a winner for a change after A’s 2000-2003 in playoffs hes yet to land on a solid team Balt O’s Astros.Right now
    WS
    Twins
    SFG
STL are all looking at him.
Sorry to say he has 2-3 yrs left last season 313 8th NL 199hits 2nd NL 46 doubles first overall 86 RBIs is 14th in NL

Im a A’s fan this would be only way I go to a Sf no ring 50+yrs Giants

  9. KEN…go find someone who cares. Have fun getting mopped up in the AL West this year.

  10. ScottA,

I’m glad the Giants stood away from Carlos Delgado. He’s a huge risk now for any team that signs him. He would have been nice during his prime!
