SF Giants Rumors: Throwback Lincecum, Torres Gets Big, Romo Save, MVPosey, Etc.

Lincecum DayIf you missed last night’s San Francisco Giants game, it felt like a throwback Tim Lincecum night. Lincecum was on his A-game. He allowed a bomb early on in the game, and that was pretty much it. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run, 3 hits and 1 walk with 6 strikeouts! Let’s hope he can continue to build off of this start, and put together some quality starts going forward.

Little, Big Giant

In the second inning, Andres Torres took a mighty cut that resulted in a 2-run homer for the Giants. This turned out to be the game winner. Torres is 16-for-43 (.372) in his last 13 games.

Show Stopper

Closer Sergio Romo closed the door on the Blue Jays to record his 16th save of the season. Romo is third on the saves list in the National League.

Catcher Buster Posey has hit safely in 20 of his last 24 games. In the last 7 games he’s hitting .333 with 3 doubles. On the year, Posey is hitting .307 with 7 homers and 31 RBI.

White House

The Giants will represent the Orange & Black at the White House on July 29. It’s an off day prior to the Phillies series reports Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle (via Twitter).
