Today is the day that Tim Lincecum was scheduled to return to the mound from his blister injury. He wasn’t ready to go, but did manage to get a bullpen session in. To me that’s still putting in work, so I’m good with that!
Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News says (via Twitter) Lincecum’s bullpen session went well, and he’s on track to pitch in a game on Saturday.
Chad Gaudin took Lincecum spot as the starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. Gaudin had a nice three innings pitched. He gave up zero runs on 2 hits. An outing like that is a good thing for a man fighting for a roster spot.
Gaudin said he’s never been on a team whose players prepared as much as the Giants, in the weight room, in drills, watching video, reports Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle (via Twitter).
