SF Giants Rumors: Trading Deadline Wish List
Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle spoke with San Francisco Giants GM Brian Sabean. Schulman asked Sabean if the Giants have enough to get the team to the playoffs and his views on the trade market for bats.
“I’m not sure we have enough,” Sabean said. “But having said that , I don’t know where there would be a significant upgrade. In a perfect world we’d like to have more power, and I don’t know if that exists.”
Sabean has spoken with 15 teams about 25 players, hitters and pitchers. However, the Giants are not in the market for a starting pitcher. They will look to upgrade their bullpen and bench.
“Anything we do has to be a significant upgrade and take us into the future,” Sabean said. Sabean is pretty much ruling out any rental players.

The Giants should be in the market for a starting pitcher. Sabean is always given the wrong marching orders. His is not to reason why, but if the Giants don’t make the playoffs this year, he should be the first to go.
I think bullpen and a solid bench is the way to go with this team. They have talent, but looked sluggish the last few weeks before the All-Star break. Some new and adequate role players that will help substitute for our starters look to be a good thing.
Trade for Adam Dunn and have him play first!
Lincecum is AWOL and Zito will do His August fade.I don’t think We can win without another starting pitcher.He doesn’t have to be an ace just a 4th or 5th.
