SF Giants Rumors: Up Next, Belt’s Hot, Cain’s Hat And Glove, Huff To DL
The San Francisco Giants were unable to finish off the Astros by getting the sweep, but they still won the series! The Giants end their homestand by going 3-3. They now hit the road to play 9 Inter-League games against the Mariners, Angels and Athletics.
Brandon Belt is in the zone, as he’s hit a home run in 3 consecutive games. I’m guessing Belt will be starting tonight, since manger Bruce Bochy has a rule about guys that hit home runs. If you hit a home run then you’re back in the lineup the next day.
Matt Cain has sent his glove and hat to the Hall of Fame. Must be a great feeling to know you’re always going to be remembered at the Hall of Fame! David Letterman’s people have already requested that Cain come read the “Top 10 List”.
If you missed the Perfect Game, no worries! CSN Bay Area will be re-airing Cains perfect game Thursday, June 21 at 7:30pm.
Aubrey Huff is headed to the DL after tripping and bruising his knee during the perfect game celebration. Outfielder Justin Christian is being called up from Fresno.

Poor Aubrey. It’s like he went straight from the WS into a retirement home.
Keep it up Brandon Belt!!!! We are rooting for you!!!
Get rid of Huff already! He has one home run and nine hits all year. He’s dead weight and needs to be released
Cain is showing the world what we already knew: he is that great!
They won’t release Huff out of loyalty which I admire but it’s clear he needs to retire.
Bochy’s rule…
yeah, you can go 1 for 4 with one dinger, 2 K’s and a GIDP and play the next day. Or you can go 1 for 2 with a rbi, 2 walks, and an SB but sit for another series.
Anybody notice that Belt’s homers were off of lefties — against whom Bochy has been platooning Belt most of the season?
