Starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong is back with the San Francisco Giants. He was playing with Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Vogelsong is expected to get back on the mound for the Giants Wednesday against the Brewers.

“It was a great experience, it really was. It was everything I thought it would be, minus winning,” said Vogelsong (reports John Shea via Twitter).

World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval was scratched from yesterday’s game after feeling discomfort in his right elbow. Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com said (via Twitter) Sandoval felt it on a throw to second base on Saturday. The soreness was worse Sunday, but Sandoval said “I don’t think it’s serious.”

Matt Snyder of CBSSports.com says pitcher Barry Zito was duped out of $3 million by a friend. Zito claims his friend convinced him to make a $3 million investment in a start-up company that was in the midst of raising $20 million worth in equity. I guess it’s safe to say the company didn’t pan out, or Zito wouldn’t be suing his friend. You can read more about it here at courthousenews.com.
