Last night’s game was a frustrating one till after the 7th inning. There was twice in the game that the San Francisco Giants had a runner at 3rd base with no outs, and weren’t able to score them. However, the G-men were able to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th, and then won it in the bottom of the 9th with a walk-off walk!
Prior to last night’s game, the Giants had made a flurry of roster moves. They recalled pitcher Mike Kickham and pitcher Jean Machi from the Fresno Grizzlies. In the counter moves, they sent pitcher Chad Gaudin to the DL (carpal tunnel) and DFA’d outfielder Jeff Francoeur.
Outfielder Angel Pagan will continue his rehab and join the Grizzlies on Friday in Las Vegas.
Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com reports (via Twitter) that Pablo Sandoval was feeling better (sore back), and was available off the bench in last night’s game. Catcher Hector Sanchez had an X-ray done on his forearm and the results came back negative.
In another tweet by Baggarly, he says that VP Bobby Evans said on a KNBR interview that the club will look at pitcher Heath Hembree in September since he’ll have to go on the 40-man roster in the offseason anyways.
