SF Giants Rumors: Wilson Decision Looms, World Series Money, Down On The Farm

Posted on November 27th, 2012 by admin in SF Giants Rumors

Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle points out that if the San Francisco Giants don’t tender a contract to Brian Wilson by Friday, he will becomes a free agent.

We have all speculated that the team would offer him a lower base salary with a ton of incentives if Wilson can produce on the field. I don’t think any Giants fans are ready to see the beard wearing any other uniform. Both sides need to give a little and meet in the middle to make this work.

It’s been reported that a full World Series share per Giant is $377,003. That’s a record for the most dough given per share. The 2010 Giants received $317,631 per share. Yes, Melky Cabrera gets a full share for those of you that were going to ask.

Down On The Farm

The Giants have signed minor league catcher Guillermo Quiroz and pitcher Omar Javier to minor league deals.

Giants pitching prospect Chris Heston was named to the Topps Double-A All Star team.

I’m not sure what happened with Angel Villalona‘s visa to come play in the United States, but he has been playing ball in the Dominican Winter League. Villalona is hitting .300 with a homer and 4 RBI in 14 games (30 AB’s) thus far.

Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on the possibility of Wilson not returning to the Giants.

  1. I think tendering any kind of a long term contract to Wilson should be off the table. It makes the most sense to sign him to a 1 year contract with incentives to perform.

  2. No way he should go! I am a huge fan as many of my friends are… At least 2 more years and see how it goes!
