The stage is set for the start of the 2012 World Series. The Detroit Tigers are representing the American League and the National League is represented by your San Francisco Giants.
Manager Bruce Bochy has announced the Giants pitching rotation for the first four games. Our 2010 ace (Tim Lincecum) was left out as a starter, and will be used in the bullpen. I do believe he will be in a key role for this World Series by coming out of the pen.

One player that wasn’t left out as a starter is the man that was left off the 2010 Playoff Roster. I’m sure you guessed it, Barry Zito will be the game 1 starter tonight for the Giants.

Starting Rotation

Justin Verlander (17-8) vs. Barry Zito (15-8)

Doug Fister (10-10) vs. Madison Bumgarner (16-11)

Ryan Vogelsong (14-9) vs. Anibal Sanchez (9-13)

Matt Cain (16-5) vs. Max Scherzer (16-7)

The Giants have also announced today that they’re going with the same roster for the World Series that they used in the NLDS and the NLCS.
