The sentence that everyone has been waiting for went down today. Barry Bonds was sentenced to 30 days of house arrest, two years of probation and 250 hours of community service.
Ex-Giant Fred Lewis posted on his Facebook the following status message.

“I DON’T CARE… I still love my teammate, my brother, and my friend Barry Bonds. I learned a lot from watching that guy. He took great care of me back in San Fran.”

Minor Moves

NBC Sports says the Giants have re-signed catcher Eli Whiteside to a minor league deal. Whiteside will have to compete for a roster spot.

Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus tweets that the Giants have signed infielder Joaquin Arias to a minor league contract.

What’s your thoughts on Bonds, Whiteside and Arias?

Our legal system is basically underhanded: a jester’s version of justice. It’s like a giant squid in the abyssal depths, a mysterious creature which you can only pray won’t notice you. Barry knows far more than he cares to about the feeding habits of this squid, which callously ended his career. Baseball is just a dream; the Feds are a nightmare.

I won’t say you are wrong, David. I will say, compare it with that of other countries. There system doesn’t make ours “right”, but it’s educational to see what is out there.

I miss the steroid era and players slamming HR’s. The thing about powerful people like Barry Bonds is they can’t admit the truth when they are caught. Barry is the best baseball player of his era and one of the very best in history. Even when all the big boys took steroids, he was the best of the best. That said, I would not ever want him over for dinner as his ego is too big and he doesn’t know how to tell truth even when everyones knows!!!!

  • Kayaker Dave says:

But if he picked up a baseball bat, I would be there to watch. He is entertainment, not someone I would ever want as a friend!

All those years and all that taxpayer money for 30 days of home detention, of which he’ll serve 15 days. Thanks worthless WITCH HUNTING DA’S. For the record, I am not a fan of Bonds, but seriously, there was nothing better for those guys to do?
