If you attend Spring Training you get to see players have a little stretching session prior to batting practice. Then you see them joking around while shagging balls in the outfield. Others are getting their swings in and working on bunting. However, you might miss the hard work that these players actually put in.

Brandon Crawford started Sunday against the D-Backs. When Crawford exited the game, he then took a walk to the practice field that’s located behind the right field area. Crawford then started working on sprints and was being timed during each run. He was working up a good sweat and had to pause at times to catch his breath. I just wanted to mention this as a lot of fans actually don’t see the hard work these guys put in behind the scenes.

With Spring Training already well underway, manager Bruce Bochy told Jim Bowden of ESPN (via Twitter) that the San Francisco Giants still haven’t closed the door on a Brian Wilson return.

Bochy also told Bowden (via Twitter) that left field is really the only competition they have in camp.

Gregor Blanco, Andres Torres and Francisco Peguero look like the final three guys that are going to battle it out till Opening Day.

Since we’re on Bowden tweets; he also said Hunter Pence tells him that his preference is to a sign a long-term contract with the Giants instead of testing free agency.

Tim Lincecum has been sidelined a few days with a blister. He’s hoping he can get back into a spring game on Thursday.
