SF Giants Rumors: Brian Wilson Doing Private Workouts, Giants Players in the World Baseball Classic

Brian WilsonBob Nightengale of USA Today says (via Twitter) the New York Mets are showing strong interest San Francisco Giants former closer Brian Wilson. Mets GM Sandy Alderson watched Wilson in a private workout Saturday in Los Angeles.
Mike Puma of the New York Post says Alderson confirmed that he did watch Wilson at UCLA. Alderson also says he’s “not sure” if the Mets will extend an offer to Wilson.

World Baseball Classic

Closer Sergio Romo has told SF Giants Rumors (via Twitter) that the plan is to play with Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (via Twitter) that Ryan Vogelsong will be in Team USA‘s rotation for the WBC.

Jon Paul Morosi of FoxSports.com says (via Twitter) Pablo Sandoval has committed to play in the WBC with Team Venezuela.
