SF Giants Rumors: G-Men Own D-Backs At Home, Vogelsong Stellar, Cabrera Passes Mays

Another home game against the D-Backs and another win for the San Francisco Giants. The Giants have won 24 of their last 32 games against the D-Backs at AT&T Park.
It was another stellar performance by starter Ryan Vogelsong, but he received a no decision. Vogelsong tossed 7 innings and just allowed 1 earned run. The bats didn’t come around till the bottom of the 8th. I’m sure Vogelsong is just happy that the team gets the win on his day on the mound.

Outfielder Melky Cabrera had another multi-hit game. He’s the major league leader in that department with 25 for the season.

Cabrera also passed the great Willie Mays for the most hits in May (50). Mays had 49 hits in May, 1958. With one game left (today) in May for the Giants. Cabrera looks to try an pass Randy Winn (51) with most hits in a single month in SF Giants History.

Tonight’s Starters

RHP Ian Kennedy (3-5, 4.65)

RHP Tim Lincecum (2-5, 6.41)

What’s your thoughts on the Giants, Vogelsong, and Cabrera?

It’s Bochy’s job to judiciously call the bullpen when starters struggle — and to help the strugglers turn things around.
Lincecum is his current enigma. Zito has had more good starts than usual, but in the mix is the old, shellable Zito.

One thing about the Giants is that I feel there is a great feeling of fan optimism now. The offense seems more capable and the Giants fans love a record being broken. Melky’s 50 hits has given us great hope. Tonight though is a pivotal game as if we could win it with Lincecum, fan optimism would go through the roof. Let’s go Timmy! Let’s gain another game against the Dodgers!
