Word on the street since yesterday is that the San Francisco Giants are close to locking in reliever Javier Lopez. Steve Berman of BayAreaSportsGuy.com says a source tells him that the deal is for three years, $13 million. I’m all in for this deal. Three years and only $13 million total to trot out the best lefty specialist in the game (in my humble opinion)! Let’s hope they lock him in ASAP before someone else jumps in and try’s to raise the price tag.

Radio station 95.7 The Game sent out a tweet about their interview with free agent starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo. The station says Arroyo’s very interested in pitching for the Giants at AT&T Park.
For those of you that missed the news a while back, former Giants player Ryan Garko is now an assistant baseball coach at Stanford University, says Andrew Baggaryl of CSNBayArea.com (via Twitter).

    Good for Garko!

I agree I hope we sign him quick for that deal!!

I heard that Arroyo’s price is too high for the Giants brass something like 3 yrs for 40 mil.

He’s a workhorse giving you at least 200 innings a year and his era is not bad. I think he’s be worth it.

Can you imagine him rounding out the rotation? Maybe make Timmy the closer!
