SF Giants Rumors: Lincecum Drops Another, Melky’s Bat MIA, Over The Weekend

Another Tim Lincecum start, and another loss for the San Francisco Giants. The G-men have only won 2 of Lincecum’s 13 starts this season. He doesn’t have to get the win in every game, but the team should be winning more than 2 games in his 13 starts.
With that said, the Giants are only 5 games back of the Dodgers. If Lincecum can snap out of his funky rhythm (which I think he will). The Giants can easily make up some ground on the Dodgers, and take over the NL West lead.

Need His Bat

The National League average leader (.364) Melky Cabrera skipped the Rangers series to rest his strained right hamstring. The Giants are hoping he can return to the lineup tomorrow against the Astros.

Over The Weekend

Pitcher Steve Edlefsen was optioned to Fresno to make room for pitcher George Kontos. Kontos pitched a scoreless inning Sunday against the Rangers. He was obtained in the Chris Stewart to the Yankees trade just prior to the start of the season.

i still think there may be a shoulder/arm issue that either isn’t being discussed or hasn’t been discoverd yet; watching baseball since the mid 50’s i recall more than a few hard throwers losing their velosity and later finding an arm issue later (i.e. j.r. richards, frank tananna, etc). i see on the internet some writer is suggesting timmy learn to pitch a whole new way, depending on junk, curves, etc. that’s a little much for me but don’t discount an arm issue.
