SF Giants Rumors: Nothing Like Sweeping Dodgers, Wilson To Start Throwing, Pagan, Scutaro and Stratton News

It was a sweet road trip for the San Francisco Giants. It started by taking 2-out-of-3 from the Padres at Petco Park, and then sweeping the Dodgers at the Giants home stadium in Los Angeles (just kidding). The G-men now have a 2.5 game lead in the NL West. This is the first time the Giants have swept the Dodgers in L.A. since 2007.
Outfielder Angel Pagan has been on a tear as of late. Pagan went 13-for-27 (.481) with 4 RBI and 8 runs scored on the trip.

Infielder Marco Scutaro has been swinging a hot bat since he put on a Giants uniform. Scutaro is hitting .337 with 2 homers, 18 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 25 games for the Giants.

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says (via twitter) Brian Wilson will start throwing in October. That’s 6 months after his Tommy John surgery. Baggarly points out that Wilson looked good, healthy. However, his beard, not so much!

In another tweet, Baggarly says Giants prospect Chris Stratton has been released from the hospital. This is great news Giants fans. Let’s hope for a speedy recovery!

First off, great news to hear Stratton being out of the hospital. I hope he recovers from this very quickly, but I know it will probably be on his mind when he steps on the mound next season.

Secondly, Pagan has been hot, Scutaro has been, Arias has been hot, Crawford has been swinging the bat well… Great to see these guys picking up the slack that was left by Melky.

I am not shocked the Wilson will begin to throw – he is one determined S.O.B. I love his personality and work ethic. Let’s hope he is not starting too soon from the surgery.

Isn’t it cool that once upon a time when a player got that injury that led to Tommy John surgery his career was over.

Now it’s just treated as a minor speed bump!

Amazing! Speaking of amazing the Giants went into LA and basically told the Dodgers in their own yard that we’re still the big dogs and proved it.
We even drank their water and ate their Alpo for good measure!
