SF Giants Rumors: Pagan Drawing Interest, Bourn and Victorino

Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com says outfielder Angel Pagan is drawing interest from the same teams that are looking at B.J. Upton. Sources tell Rosenthal, Pagan could sign before the start of the Winter Meetings (December 3).
Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com says the San Francisco Giants have checked in on outfielder Michael Bourn. Heyman points out this free agent market is stocked with center fielders, Pagan and Shane Victorino are two viable options.

The Giants are trying to re-sign Pagan, but could turn to others if they’re not able to sign Pagan.

I know a lot of fans don’t want to see Victorino as the Giants starting center fielder in 2013, so let’s hope the Giants can work something out to bring Pagan back. I would love to see Bourn (if Pagan isn’t signed) in a Giants uniform, but I’m not sure if the team is willing to fork out that kind of dough and years to land him.

Don’t forget that you still have time to enter the SF Giants Rumors Giveaway! Tomorrow (Tuesday, November 20) is the last day to enter the drawing!

You know call me crazy but, I wouldn’t mind seeing Pegan walk and sign Bourn long term. I mean look at the facts Pegan is older and yes Bourn is younger but, you dont want to pay a high salary on a guy who isn’t worth it. I mean really the only one that paned out well after the world series was Ross. You look at Sanchez, Huff, and yes even Uribe all got paid and none produced .. I mean even look at Torres. So I would rather see Bourn then Pegan honestly and as far as money goes if Timmy doesn’t produce by midway this year I don’t think the Giants will be hesitant to pull a deal to trade Lincecum for a good bat and maybe a 4 or 5 starter. There is alot of AL teams that think he could benifit from a power offense with his pitching numbers so we shall see.

bourn would be a bad buy. why is no one talking hairston?

and no way is that evil hawaiin midget coming to sf

  • Tom says:

Let’s not forget, the Giants need 2 outfielders not one. Unless you want Blanco as an everyday player, which he’s not.

  • Who ever the Giants put in centerfield next year is simply keeping it warm for Gary Brown. Should they re-sign Pagan his ultimate position could be leftfield in ’14. Which is not terrible.

  • Chenfei Xu says:

Sign Pagan to a 3-4 years deal. No more than 1 year for Scoutaro. Don’t want Huff #2!

and yes, i hope they keep pagan for at least 2 more yrs. Scurtaro is awesome but he is a bit aged.
