Sandoval_SurgeryI’m not sure where to even start… Let’s start with the San Francisco Giants falling to the Pirates to open the series. Tim Lincecum put up another shaky outing, and the Giants went on to lose 8-2.

Lincecum only lasted 4.2 innings and allowed 7 hits, 2 ER and 2 walks. He continues to struggle to put up consecutive consistent outings. I really believe opposing teams no longer worry about facing Lincecum, and probably get more pumped up to get an AB against him.

Yesterday started off with Pablo Sandoval getting placed on the DL, and ended with Marco Scutaro possibly having tendon damage to his finger. This is another blow to the Giants offense. Let’s just be happy that there’s another 2/3 of the season left and none of these injuries are season ending injuries.

Fresno Grizzlies outfielder Francisco Peguero was struck in the head by a pitch. Peguero suffered a concussion and is going to be placed on the DL, reports Bryant-Jon Anteola (via Twitter).

Grizzlies’ pitcher Shane Loux is having Tommy John surgery today in San Francisco.
