For those of you that were hoping the San Francisco Giants would sign free agent outfielder Nick Swisher, it’s not going to happen. Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle says (via Twitter) Swisher’s employment tour will not run through the Giants front office.
In another tweet, Schulman breaks down Santiago Casilla‘s contract details. Casilla will get $4.5 million in 2013, $4.5 million in 2014, $5 million in 2015, and $1 million buyout option. It’s a $15 million guaranteed contract.

  • Paul Moore says:

It appears to me if they can sign the “reserve” second baseman they had last year, the Giants will be set. They will have 12 postion players set with one opening. That could be their reserve 1st baseman if they can get Belt to play and occasional left field (they say they may see how that works in spring training) or another outfielder. If that is the case I would put my money on the kid who was on the squad at the end of the year and is very very fast.

  • Anthony R says:

Yeah if Pill can come around and be the beast that he seems he can be they can platoon him and Belt in left.

Looks like the Giants have got their pre season plans done.
They’ve shown their not afraid to go to a mid season move if someone has a fire sale.
