In case you haven’t noticed, the San Francisco Giants 2nd base job has been locked down since Ryan Theriot came off the DL. He’s been on fire with the bat. In his last 12 games, Theriot is hitting .432. I would say that’s enough to lockdown a spot for a while.

Blanco Power

Outfielder Gregor Blanco has turned into a power hitter over the last 2 games. He’s managed to hit 2 homers at the not so friendly home run park (Petco Park) in San Diego.

Can’t Afford Another Injury

Outfielder Melky Cabrera left yesterdays game in the 8th inning because he felt some tightness in his right hamstring. It doesn’t seem to be anything major that would keep him out for a while. Cabrera is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Giants face the Rangers.

Groundhogs Day

No this isn’t groundhogs day. Freddy Sanchez is really back to doing drills on the field, throwing and hitting off the tee. There is no set date on when Sanchez should return to the Giants. Let’s wait another couple days to see if there is another setback or not.

I look forward to reading your comments here and on SF Giants Rumors Facebook!
