SF Giants Rumors: Vogelsong Delivers, Cain’s Turn In Game 7, Etc.

The 2012 playoffs haven’t gone as smooth as the San Francisco Giants would have liked, but they seem to strive with their backs to the wall.
Ryan Vogelsong pitched the game of his career last night (7 IP, 1 run and 9 K’s), and helped the Giants win another elimination game to force game seven tonight!

Tonight is game seven, but the Giants are hoping six could be their lucky number. They have won five elimination games during the playoffs this year, and they will need to win their sixth tonight to send them to the 2012 World Series.

Matt Cain takes the mound for the Giants tonight, and hopes to get back to his 2010 playoff form. He posted a 0.00 ERA in the 2010 playoffs. Cain is currently 1-2 with a 4.67 ERA during this playoff run. The long ball has been the problem for Cain as of late. Let’s hope the heavy air and pitchers ballpark (AT&T Park) will help Cain in that department tonight.

The Giants are proving it’s a team game with the bats, but I’m sure manager Bruce Bochy is hoping Buster Posey and Hunter Pence wake up their bats to help this offense continue to roll.

Pablo Sandoval has started to heat up over the last four games (.411 Avg, 2 Homers and 5 RBI in last 4 games), and looks to keep that going tonight against the Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse.

The hottest hitter in a Giants uniform right now is Marco Scutaro. He’s currently hitting .458 in the NLCS, and has hit safely in all six games this round against the Cardinals.
